Course Description
Every year, people die and many more are injured in fires at work. The responsibility falls on management to ensure their staffs are sufficiently trained in fire safety matters. Basic Fire Safety Awareness training covers a variety of areas including legislation, causes of fire, fire prevention, fire evacuation procedures, extinguisher use, safety features, emergency procedures, role and responsibilities and fire assembly
Course Goals
This program will equip the participants with the skills required to safely evacuate their workplace. Regular evacuation training will ensure that personnel are ready to deal with any workplace emergency. On completion of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Identify of the effects of fire and smoke
- Understanding of the triangle of fire
- Understanding of fire procedures
- Demonstrate safe operation of portable fire-fighting equipment.
- Understand actions to be taken in the event of a fire, including methods of raising the alarm and contacting emergency services
- Understand the evacuation and emergency assembly point procedures.
